When you think of fall fragrances, what immediately comes to mind? For most of us, it’s those signature warm, cozy, autumnal scents like spiced apple, sweet cinnamon, brown sugar, vanilla, and woodsy vetiver that we start to crave as soon as the first chill enters the air. Unlike our go-to summer scents that are usually light, fruity, and airy (we spritzed apple- and tangerine-scented KENSIE So Pretty all summer on the reg), fall perfumes call for layers of more complex notes full of depth and nostalgia.

If you’re ready for your autumn fragrance vibes to match your PSL vibes (we’ve already got ours in hand with pumpkin-picking dates planned), we’ve got you covered. Check out 20 of the best fall fragrances to spritz all season (some even adored by Ipsters like you!).

COMMODITY Milk Expressive Fragrance

This addictive scent mixes notes of cold milk, marshmallow, and mahogany together to create an earthy combo that transports us to a cozy cabin in the woods. It’s one of those homey and genderless scents that we love for layering. “There are layers that build upon each other, leaving you with such a beautiful, warm, and cuddly scent. I love, love, love, this one. It also blends well with other scents, so if you like to blend scents, this is a great base!” says one Ipster.

2. A Romantic Rendezvous:

MICHEL GERMAIN Emily in Paris Eau de Parfum Spray

MICHEL GERMAIN Emily in Paris Eau de Parfum Spray

“Everything about this fragrance is captivating, from the packaging to the bottle to your very first spritz. It starts with a burst of fresh citrus, followed by bergamot. I love it!” one Ipster raves. We totally agree. If you’re as obsessed with Emily in Paris as we are, you’ll be hooked on this dreamy EDP thanks to a seductive cocktail of neroli, French pear, black currant, and burgundy that’s perfect for those who like a little citrus twist in a warm fall scent.

3. A Long-Lasting Scent:

THE LIFESTYLE Co. Mood Perfume

THE LIFESTYLE Co. Mood Perfume

When it comes to fall weather, mood is everything—which is why we love spritzing this nostalgic perfume when we really want to lean into our sweater-weather feels. Saffron, jasmine, amber, cedarwood, and amber evoke a warm and spicy scent that feels so comforting and familiar. Even better, we applied it in the morning before heading out to work and were amazed at how we didn’t have to reapply at all throughout the day.

4. A Toasty To-Go Scent:

SKYLAR Fall Cashmere Eau de Parfum

SKYLAR Fall Cashmere Eau de Parfum

If you’re looking for a signature scent that you can take on the road, consider this your new travel bestie. “I love woodsy, nature, or floral-based scents, and this product embodies that perfectly,” one Ipster so accurately describes. A little bit of musk with a layerable finish (thanks to notes of toasted almond, ginger, and caramelized vanilla), make this one perfume that we love to use all year round.

5. A Nature Trip:

MAISON LOUIS MARIE No.09 Vallée de Farney Eau de Parfum

MAISON LOUIS MARIE No.09 Vallée de Farney Eau de Parfum

Who says destination vacations are only meant for summer? Inspired by Vallée de Farney, a nature preserve in the native forests of Mauritius Island, this intoxicating EDP transported us out of New York to a land far, far away. It’s a perfect setting of wild woods and musk (thanks to cedarwood and patchouli), with an uplifting addition of black pepper, orange, and grapefruit.

6. A Balanced Blend:

5 SENS Twin Flame Eau de Parfum

5 SENS Twin Flame Eau de Parfum

Transitioning from cool, citrusy summer scents, to warm, heavier fall fragrances sometimes calls for a transition period. When we want something light and airy for those crisp, but still summery fall days, we reach for this mix. Cool cucumber and white musk keep things feeling nice and breezy, while cardamom and Indian sandalwood add some earthy depth. We were especially surprised at how easily we could wear this scent year round if we wanted to.

7. An Almost Oil:

LAURA MERCIER Ambre Vanille Eau De Parfum

LAURA MERCIER Ambre Vanille Eau De Parfum

One word: rich. That’s how we describe the luxurious texture of this intoxicating treat (and how it made us feel). “I bought this for my daughter and I’ve tried this on myself. It’s absolutely beautiful with a lovely vanilla scent that is not overbearing,” one Ipster tells us. The key? It’s made with a high concentration of fragrance oil, giving it shockingly good staying power that smells better the longer you wear it. The notes? Amber, vanilla, tangerine, tiger orchid, sandalwood, brown sugar, and many more.

8. A Feel-Good Gourmand:

DEFINEME Fragrance Rami-Clear Quartz Perfume

DEFINEME Fragrance Rami-Clear Quartz Perfume

We love a gourmand scent that features all the things we love about fall, like salted caramel, almond, figs, and black cherry (yum!). Even better, this fragrance was specifically made with the brand’s gourmand rami scent and clear quartz, which both are intended to inspire purpose, clarity, focus, and manifestation, so you can enter the season with positive vibes. One Ipster says, “I love this perfume. I'm so picky with perfumes and don't like most of them that other people like, but this one is a keeper!.”

9. A Cozy, Clean Scent:

COMMODITY Paper Personal

Looking for the perfect spritz that’s not too heavy? If you’re sensitive to stronger smells, this baby is for you. With over 1,000 five-star reviews, this mini has gotten major Ipster love. “It’s a great scent! Not too strong and would be great for work where you're around people that might sensitive to fragrances,” says Ipster, Julia K. You’ll smell like a light mist of cedarwood, sandalwood, and amber that’s just noticeable enough for people to ask who it is that smells so good.

10. A Late-Night Fix:

KORRES Eau de Toilette Saffron Tobacco

KORRES Eau de Toilette Saffron Tobacco

This spicy blend had our heads spinning—in a good way. Notes of saffron, bergamot, cacao, tobacco blossom, patchouli, and vanilla transported us to the cozy corner of a dark and moody jazz club on a chilly fall night. While it was designed for men, we love how versatile enough this fragrance is to be worn by anyone. It’s spicy, sweet, earthy, and luxurious, and we seriously could take a bath in this stuff.

11. A Head-Turning Scent:

VILHELM PARFUMERIE Poets of Berlin Fragrance

VILHELM PARFUMERIE Poets of Berlin Fragrance

If you’re into niche fragrances, this find is for you. Inspired by David Bowie’s love of Berlin, this scent fuses notes of lemon, blueberry, bamboo, and Haitian vetiver that are bold and bright but at the same time deep, moody, and inviting. A little spritz on our pulse points went a long way. “It's not overpowering but leaves a subtle trail of allure. I love how the fragrance evolves over time, revealing different layers that complement each other beautifully. The longevity is impressive, staying with me throughout the day,” said Ipster Rebecca A. We consider this one of those fall-to-winter fragrances that work well into the colder months.

12. A Fresh-Baked Treat:

PINROSE Secret Genius Eau de Parfum

PINROSE Secret Genius Eau de Parfum

This Ipster review made us eager to spritz ASAP. “The combination in this bottle is pure sorcery! It smells amazing and I cannot get enough of the caramel and vanilla undertones with sandalwood, giving it a really nice effect!” If you’re a gourmand lover like us, we 10/10 recommend for a yummy scent that smells like home.

13. An Ode to Oud:

It’s hard to choose a favorite BYREDO fall fragrance, but there’s just something about the intense, woody Oud Immortel. It contains top notes of incense and cardamom, a heart of Brazilian rosewood, rapyrus, and patchouli, and base notes of moss, tobacco leaves, and oud. Wear it on a date—trust us.

14. A Curl-Up-With-a-Book Find:

ELLIS BROOKLYN Iso Gamma Super Eau de Parfum Travel Spray

ELLIS BROOKLYN Iso Gamma Super Eau de Parfum Travel Spray

We originally tried this as part of this ELLIS BROOKLYN Signature Scent Duo and considered it one of the best fall fragrances, which many fellow Ipsters agreed with us on. “Iso Super Gamma's scent is indescribable. It reminds me of a fresh, woodsy book. It smells good alone or combined with West. Some people say you only need a little but I use three to four sprays,” says one member.

15. A Rare Scent:

LE LABO Ambrette 9 Eau de Parfum

Is there ever a moment when LE LABO isn’t trending? This floral scent is unique because of how rare the main ingredient is. Ambrette grain is the only musky scent made by nature. It’s fresh and soft with a combination of citrus and fruit, and powdery in the best, prettiest way possible.

16. A Perfect Personal Scent:

PHLUR Sandara Eau de Parfum

PHLUR Sandara Eau de Parfum

We love any fragrance that works with our body’s chemistry, so when we applied this to our pulse points, we were amazed at how beautifully it was amplified without being the least bit overpowering. Woodsy, earthy, and floral layers of bergamot, sandalwood, violet, sweet musk, green floral, and amber make it another scent that we may just wear well into the winter.

17. A Fall Fling:

MEMOIRE ARCHIVES Cabin Retreat

MEMOIRE ARCHIVES Cabin Retreat

One mist of this seductive scent and we were ready to plan a woodsy escape with bae. It’s got splashes of atlas cedar wood, oak moss, and sandalwood that feel like cozy nights cuddling by the fire. “I love warm scents and love the outdoors! This embodied both of those! It has a very strong cedar smell but with a slight note of femininity to it (in my opinion). It definitely could be unisex, too” one Ipster said.

18. A Scent for Everyone:

NON GENDER SPECIFIC Flooid Fragrance

NON GENDER SPECIFIC Flooid Fragrance

Unisex scents can be tricky since it can be hard to please everybody, but this genderless scent infuses grapefruit, warm amber, vetiver, and white musk, making it a major crowd pleaser. One Ipster raves, “I love this. It’s similar to Terre d’Hermes Parfum, but maybe a little more feminine too and so unique, different, and sophisticated.”

19. A Quick Trip:

PRADA Amber Pour Femme

Of all the new fragrances and niche fragrances on the market, this adored scent is forever a fragrance fan fave (like classic DIOR Ambre Nuit and JO MALONE Wood Sage & Sea Salt). One spritz of PRADA’s Amber and you’ll be transported to Paris at nighttime. It features four takes on amber: sandalwood oil from India, patchouli leaves from Indonesia, labdanum resin from France, and benzoin from Siam. It’s spicy, woody, and so sultry.

20. A Refreshing Scent:

THE NUE CO. Water Therapy Fragrance

THE NUE CO. Water Therapy Fragrance

While splashy scents may seem summery, the layer of stress-relieving notes in this fragrance are perfect for keeping calm during the sometimes hectic fall season. Sandalwood, seaweed, clary sage, rose, and vetiver aim to create the feeling of being near water so that your next vacay doesn’t seem too far away.
